Join me for a wonderfully blissful, nourishing and revitalizing week in beautiful Costa Rica. Imagine waking up to the chatter of monkeys and the exotic songs of tropical birds, a standing meditation and walk as the sun rises, a light but thorough warm-up of your body/mind/spirit, a delicious and nutritious breakfast…
After breakfast, a brief seated meditation, talk on Taoism and special healing practices that absorb and harness energy from nature; a well-deserved lunch. Time in the afternoon (at least 1-4pm) to rest, swim, excursions in nature, horseback riding.
A more intensive qigong practice and 5 Healing Techniques from 4-5:15pm. Dinner on our own at local restaurants. Ending the day with an optional seated qigong practice and meditation under the moon.
We will be staying at Casa Bellavista Montezuma Costa Rica Pacific Ocean Blue Zone, a private villa graciously hosted by David and Justine Smythe. David, our chef, was a professor at the Culinary Institute of America for 30 years. Justine is a graduate of Cornell Hotel School
Qigong is ideally practiced in harmony with the rhythms of nature to receive its additional energy and benefits. In tropical Costa Rica we will be overwhelmed and pleasured by its uniqueness: the trees, animals, birds, sun, moon and ocean.
Working with nature, we will clear and focus our minds, become vital and radiant in our bodies, and share a glorious spirit with each other.
For beginners and advanced students, if you have already experienced a great amount of progress in your practice or are new to Qigong. Now, with a minimum of distraction, and 5 full days of practicing with nature and each other in this beautiful setting, we can truly reach and maintain a new plateau—a life changing experience!! See you this February!
A TEACHER YOU CAN TRUST
For the past 25 years, Paul Bloom has studied classical qigong with Chinese master Kwan Sai-hung and Tibetan Buddhism with Gelek Rinpoche and Prof. Robert Thurman. His in depth examination of Chinese philosophy at Harvard and Columbia Universities enriches and augments the traditional wisdom he's gained during a quarter century of study.
Paul has actively included the Buddhist principles of the rare and precious nature of being a human being and the significant role of love and compassion in realizing one's full potential.
Mr. Bloom has conducted qigong workshops at the Omega Institute, Rhinebeck, NY; Tibet House, NYC, and taught at Buddhist retreats at Upaya Zen Center, Santa Fe, NM.; Jewel Heart, Ann Arbor, Mich.; and Menla Mountain Retreat Center, Phoenicia, NY. He presently teaches weekly classes in Woodstock, Kingston, Rhinebeck, Saugerties and Red Hook, NY. Paul's focus is to present these ancient, time-honored healing and spiritual practices in a systematic, step-by-step fashion accessible to the modern Western person.
SPIRITUALLY GROUNDED
Paul has spent a quarter century studying qigong with the Chinese Taoist Kwan Sai-hung and Tibetan Buddhism with Gelek Rinpoche and Prof Robert Thurman. Mr. Kwan is part of the Taoist Northern Complete Reality School. As a Taoist he practiced physical, mental and spiritual exercises to create a complete and balanced life in relation to the Tao or Way, the greater reality and flow of life in the universe.
One is a microcosm of the greater macrocosm that is the universe. The Complete Reality School believed in using the totality of experience to improve humanity and used Confucianism and Buddhism as well as Taoism.
In this spirit, Paul has actively included in his teaching the Buddhist principles of the rare and precious nature of being a human and the significant role of love and compassion in realizing one's potential as a human being.
WITH A MODERN APPROACH
A step by step methodology, stressing complete understanding of both the moves and the mindset, helps even the youngest students realize the benefits of this ancient art. By making it easy to understand and participate, Paul facilitates individual growth and achievement for students of every age, background, and ability level.
Every student is able to begin an immediate practice and start seeing the positive effects of Qigong in their life right away.
